TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 25. The Chinese Huizhenshi company plans to invest $50 million to $90 million in the development of Uzbekistan’s Fergana region, Trend reports.
The funds will be allocated for the enhancement of tourism-related infrastructure, including the construction of hotels, shopping centers, entertainment facilities, and residential complexes.
During the working visit to Fergana, corporate delegates presented a proposal for the development of a multi-story residential complex within Fergana's Ecocity, featuring 12-story buildings that include retail spaces on the lower levels.
Earlier this month, Uzbekistan’s Uzbekhydroenergo JSC energy company and China Southern Power Grid, specializing in the construction and operation of power grids, signed an agreement on the joint development of the hydroelectric power plant construction project, Trend
The hydroelectric power plant will be built in the Bostanlyk district of Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region. The cost of the project is estimated at $1 billion.
Overall, companies have invested a total of 139.1 trillion Uzbek soums ($11.4 billion) in Uzbekistan in the first six months of 2023. A significant share of these investments, 59 trillion soums ($4.8 billion), or 42.4 percent, account for foreign investment and loans directed to fixed capital.
