Uzbekistan shares volume of commercial banks' deposits

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 26. The deposits of Uzbekistan's commercial banks amounted to 257.2 trillion soums ($20.3 billion) as of June 2024, Trend reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan's Central Bank, the deposits of state-owned banks in Uzbekistan accounted for 130 trillion soums ($10.3 billion) during this period, and other banks' deposits reached 127.2 trillion soums ($10 billion).

When it comes to state-owned banks in Uzbekistan, the National Bank of Uzbekistan takes the cake with the biggest chunk of deposits, amounting to a whopping 35 trillion soums ($2.7 billion). During this period, the country's Xalq bank came in second with a whopping 19.5 trillion soums ($1.5 billion), hot on the heels of Aqrobank with 15.8 trillion soums, or $1.2 billion.

Meanwhile, the total volume of commercial banks’ capital in Uzbekistan amounted to 102.7 trillion soums ($8.1 billion) from January through May 2024.

The capital of state-owned banks reached 64.9 trillion soums ($5.1 billion), and the capital of other banks totaled 37.7 trillion soums ($2.9 billion) during this period.
