BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. Iran's non-oil trade turnover with member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation increased by 14 percent in value and 4 percent in weight terms during six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023).
The data obtained by Trend from the country's customs administration indicate that Iran's non-oil trade turnover with the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation amounted to 48.8 million tons worth $32.2 billion during six months.
Iran's largest trade turnover between member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was recorded with the UAE, Türkiye, Iraq, Pakistan, and Oman.
Furthermore, Iran exported 38.4 million tons of non-oil products worth $15.6 billion to OIC member countries over six months. Exports of non-oil products increased by 10 percent in value and 1 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
However, Iran imported 10.4 million tons of non-oil products worth $16.6 billion from the OIC member countries during the six months. Imports of non-oil products increased by 18 percent in value and 16 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has 57 members.
Iran's non-oil exports amounted to 70 million tons worth $25.8 billion during the six months of the current Iranian year. Iran's non-oil exports increased by 6.5 percent in value and 3.5 percent in weight compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023).
To note, Iran's imports of non-oil products amounted to $32.6 billion during the six months of the current Iranian year.
