Iran’s refinery of Lavan is undergoing changes which will turn it from a Euro 2 gasoline, oil, and gas factory to a Euro 4 facility in a few months.

The refinery’s isomerization and other new units will come on stream by March, boosting its output from 2.1 million liters per day to 2.8 million liters, Lavan Refinery CEO Mohammad Ali Akhbari told Shana news agency November 19.

As this happens, the refinery’s entire products, including kerosene, gas, and gasoline, will come under the Euro 4 standard, he said.

He said the redesigns under-license projects cost close to 560 billion rials ($17.5 million) in the national currency plus some 109 million euros.

The side-services also cost 801 billion rials ($25 million) plus 83 billion euros, the manager added.

The refinery was built in 1977 in Fars Province by Yugoslavia’s company. Its input then was 20,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
