Iran to increase oil production at Sepehr and Jufair fields

Work is underway to increase production by 120,000 barrels of oil on Sepehr and Jufair fields in Iran’s south-western Khuzestan province, Executive Director of the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Touraj Dehghani said.

“The work on these two fields is carried out by local companies,” Dehghani added, Trend reports referring to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Iran has 5.4 billion barrels of oil on Sepehr field. Its potential production is 450 million barrels. The development and commissioning of this field were transferred to the Iranian Pasargad Energy Development company.

Iran has 4.4 billion barrels of oil on Jufair oil field.

Its potential production reaches 390 million barrels. Some 50,000 barrels of oil are extracted from this field daily. The field development project was transferred to the Pasargad Energy Development company.

Dehghani added that a project is being implemented to develop and increase production in the Iranian Aban and West Paydar fields.
