One Soldier was killed and 21 injured Tuesday in a road accident in central Sinai, medics and witnesses told the German Press Agency dpa.
The vehicle was carrying border guards when it collided with another in the Sinai Peninsula in eastern Egypt.
The border guards, some of them seriously injured, were transferred to al-Arish hospital, sources added.
Road accidents are common in Egypt because of poor road conditions, speeding and reckless driving. According to government figures, each year some 6,000 people die and 30,000 are injured in traffic accidents in Egypt.
