France has arrested the chief of protocol of Libyan leader Moammer Gaddafi on a request by Libya citing embezzlement suspicions against the man, French radio reports said Wednesday.
The reports said that the suspect was picked up in the greater Paris area and was now in detention, pending his extradition, dpa reported.
Libyan justice authorities had sought the man's arrest, which the French acted on only after requesting and receiving further documents to firm up the suspicions, the reports said.
