Uzbekistan set to establish jam manufacturing facility with Azerbaijani company's support

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 28. Uzbekistan is set to establish a jam manufacturing facility with the participation of the Azerbaijani Azersun Holding company, an informed source told Trend.

According to the report, the company plans to invest $15 million on this project.

Agriculture accounts for over 28 percent of Uzbekistan’s GDP, with agriculture land covering approximately 4.3 million hectares.

In recent years, Azerbaijan has been actively investing in the modernization of irrigation systems, enhancing agricultural infrastructure, and introducing new technologies in Uzbekistan. In 2023, Azerbaijani investments in Uzbekistan's agriculture amounted to $1 billion.

Moreover, the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan business forum took place in Tashkent on August 22, resulting in a project portfolio worth $2 billion. The following day, during President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Tashkent, he and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with business representatives from both countries. As a result, seven projects worth $520 million were prepared for launch.
