'Baku' football club which won the Cup in 2009-2010 is negotiating with Latvian coach Alexander Starkov, reliable sources told Trend.

According to the information, there is a primary agreement with Starkov.

Alexander Starkov trained Riga's Skonto for a long time. In 2003, a team of Latvia entered the final tournament of the European Championship. In 2005 Russian team "Spartak" trained by him won silver medals at the Russian championship. After returning as head coach to Latvia, Starkov raised national team to the third place in its qualifying group for joining the world championship in 2010.

Turkish specialist Cuneyt Bicer is head coach of "Baku".

Official representative of football club "Baku" Nariman Mehdiyev told Trend that the team is negotiating with several candidates for the post of head coach.

"Perhaps, managers are negotiating with some coaches. But talks are not held with specific coaches at the club level," Mehdiyev said.
