In early April, Russian astronauts and specialists in astronautics will visit Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani National Aerospace Agency's Deputy General Director Tofig Suleymanov told Trend.
He said Russian astronauts' visit to Azerbaijan aims at participating in events on the 50th anniversary of the first manned spaceflight.
The composition of a delegation that will arrive in Azerbaijan is not yet specified, but it's not ruled out that the delegation will include famous astronauts of the USSR, Suleymanov said.
During the visit, Russian specialists will exchange views with the Azerbaijani scientists and consider the prospects for further cooperation, Suleymanov stressed.
The Soviet astronaut Yuri Gagarin became the first man carrying out spaceflight on April 12, 1961.
