The President of the European Olympic Committee (EOC) Patrick Hickey will visit Azerbaijan along with the evaluation commission in late April, Chairman of the EOC's Commission for the Olympic Games, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Israel Efraim Zinger told journalists while on a visit to Azerbaijan.

The purpose of the EOC's management's visit is to determine the locations and dates of the first European Olympic Games in Azerbaijan in 2015 as well as become acquainted with created conditions, he said.

Zinger expressed his confidence in Azerbaijan's ability to hold the event at a high-level.

The Secretary General also addressed the question of retaining wrestling in the Olympic program. According to Zinger, the decision on this matter will be taken at the IOC congress to be held in September in Argentina.

"We will try to keep wrestling in the program," Singer said.

He also added that Azerbaijan and Israel have close ties in sports as well as in other areas.
Despite the fact that Azerbaijan has joined the Olympic Games after Israel, Azerbaijan has won more medals at the Olympics than Israel, Zinger said. In this regard, Azerbaijan's experience in the field of sports can be an example for Israel.

According to Zinger, during his visit to Azerbaijan, he held a meeting at the NOC, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other institutions. He added that one of the objectives of the visit is to further expand ties in sports between Azerbaijan and Israel.
