271mln. AZN Allocated for Raising Wages of Culture Employees in 2007

271 mln. AZN allocated for raising the wages of the culture employees, from the State Budget 2007, Khagani Rzayev, Chief of a Department of the Finance Ministry of the Country, said during the today's discussion of the draft On State Budget 2007 in the Permanent Commission for Culture of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan`s Parliament), Trend reports.

He pointed out that this raise will cover 630.000 people working in the sphere of culture. 90.2 mln. AZN are expected to be given as expenses for the spheres of culture, physical training, information, etc. The amount to be given is 19.4 mln. AZN (27.5 %) more versus 2006 said Khagani Rzayev. He also pointed out that 77 mln. AZN have already been given on expenses aimed at the culture, art, and the activity of the mass media, that is on 10.6 mln. AZN more, versus last year. It was also pointed out that 13.3 mln. AZN (on 5.8 mln. AZN more versus last year) have been given to expenses on the physical training and youth policy from the State Budget.

During the discussions, Chairman of the above-mentioned Commission Nizami Jaffarov said that fewer funds are granted to the cultural sphere. Officials of the culture sphere of the country who participated in the discussions also expressed their dissatisfaction with their low salary.
