BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. TotalEnergies’ refining throughput for the first nine months of 2024 reached 1,468 kb/d, marking a 1% increase compared to 1,456 kb/d in the same period of 2023, Trend reports.
The boost in throughput is attributed in part to the restart of the Donges refinery in France, which resumed operations earlier this year after an extended period of downtime for upgrades.
In France, throughput for the period reached 406 kb/d, a slight improvement from last year’s 404 kb/d, reflecting the additional capacity from the Donges facility. Meanwhile, throughput in other regions remained stable, with a modest increase in Europe at 456 kb/d and a slight dip in the Rest of World category at 435 kb/d.
The refining utilization rate based on crude capacity was 83% for the first nine months of 2024, up from 81% in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, for the first nine months of 2024, TotalEnergies’ downstream sector, covering refining, chemicals, and marketing services, reported steady results. The adjusted net operating income for the segment reached $2.840 billion, down 45% from the $5.173 billion posted in the same period of 2023.
