ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 12. A new grain terminal has started its operations in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
A terminal with a capacity of 1 million tons of grain per year
was put into operation in the port of Kuryk, Mangistau Region,
Kazakhstan.Within the framework of the project, 18 silos were
built, which can store up to 28 thousand tons of grain crops at a
time. The capacity of conveyors is 300 tons/hour.Today the grain
terminal stores about 14 thousand tons of barley. The terminal is
ready to receive grain crops from all over Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Transport noted that this facility will provide a
projected increase in exports of grain crops in the direction of
Kazakhstan – Iran, countries of the Caucasus region, and
further.
The grain terminal was built as part of the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan for the development of maritime infrastructure of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2028.This year, 1.6 million tons of various cargoes have already been transported along the Middle Corridor through the port of Kuryk, which provides up to 80 percent of cargo traffic from China and Central Asia to Europe.
