During Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov's first official visit to France Feb.1-3, Turkmen and French officials signed a package of intergovernmental agreements.
Berdimuhamedov and French Prime Minister Francois Fillon took part in the signing campaign in Paris, an official Turkmen source reported.
The signed documents cover the establishment of a joint Turkmen-French intergovernmental economic cooperation commission, a protocol to an agreement on cooperation between foreign ministries, an agreement on cooperation in culture, education, science and technology, an interagency agreement between the culture ministries on museum cooperation, and an agreement on cooperation between the Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and french enterprises.
The Turkmen Energy and Industry Ministry and a consortium of companies led by the French Schneider Electric and Enex Process Engineering (Belgium) agreed on a project to enhance the reliability of the Ashgabat power supply. The meeting resulted in a joint statement.
