It was noted that prior to the global crisis, the high rates of development, preventive measures played a significant role in neutralizing the impact of the crisis. Due to this, the CBA and the government could pursue anti-crisis measures and preserve the country's economy. International image of Azerbaijan has also improved.
Today, Azerbaijan has a strategic goal: to maintain the rates of country's development and get into the group of countries with high incomes.
"Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has made strategic initiatives to enhance the role of small and medium enterprises, radically improve and enhance business and investment environment, modernize and diversify the national economy. To implement this strategy, the priority issue is to define a new model of economic development," said Rustamov.
