Turkmenistan builds over 2,000 facilities worth nearly $48 billion, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at the governmental meeting, local media reported.
He said the increasing construction in the country is a sign of the growing business activity.
Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the country's legal status as a permanently neutral country, its internal stability and its vast natural wealth as reasons for large foreign companies' interests in Turkmenistan.
Constructing a transcontinental railroad, which will be the shortest route linking Central Asia and the Persian Gulf and developing gas fields are major projects developed with foreign partners.
