A special petrochemical zone will be launched in the Chabahar port, with an annual production capacity of 3 million tons, Mehr News Agency reported, quoting production manager of National Petrochemical Company Ali Mohammad Bossaghzadeh as saying.
"The operation of a seventh pipeline in the general gas network would provide fuel for Petrochemical industries of Chabahar", he said.
The National Petrochemical Company plans to install an ethane and ethylene pipeline from Assalouyeh to Chabahar, while new petrochemical units would boost profits.
The petrochemical hub in Chahbahar enables the country to transfer gas and petrochemical products to neighboring countries more easily.
