The growth rate of the state securities market exceeded the growth rate of the corporate securities market by 2.3 times in 2011, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Securities Committee Ilgar Muradov said on Wednesday.
A round table on "Independent Azerbaijan - 20 years - the development and progress of the securities market" was organized on Oct. 11. It is dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of restoring Azerbaijan's independence. The representatives of the Azerbaijani State Securities Committee, the National Depository Centre, the Baku Stock Exchange and professional participants of the securities market attended the event.
The securities market increased 5.5 times and amounted to 4.9 billion manat compared to last year. The volume of state bonds on the primary and secondary markets increased by 4.9 percent, while the number of transactions with them by 45.5 percent, Muradov said.
The corporate securities market increased by 2.4 times and amounted to 805 million manat per year. The primary and secondary market for corporate securities increased by 3.8 times and amounted to 694 million manat per year.
