Today IBA activity at the cards market provides 40.7 percent of the domestic market of the country, a bank account for 32 percent of all ATM in the country, and 32.4 percent of POS-terminals," Hajiyev said.
The total number of active cards of the bank as of April 1, 2012 is 1,870,218, ATM - 637 and POS-terminals - 4167.
IBA is a universal bank and it is important to develop all areas of activity, however, the main focus this year will be the development of retail, Hajiyev told Trend.
"Taking into account the fact that we have historically been more corporate bank, the task today is developing a maximum retail. Now the ratio of corporate and retail clients is around 50 to 50 percent. Goal is the development of retail and taking the niches that we can take. It depends on how attractive will be the products that we develop and offer to the market" Hajiyev said.
International Bank of Azerbaijan was established in 1992 as the successor of the Azerbaijan branch of "Vnesheconombank". IBA holds a dominant position in the banking sector.
