Residents of Kazakhstan purchase gold bars

During the implementation of the program on the sale and purchase of measured ingots of refined gold (from May 31 to December 1, 2017), 1,485 gold bars with a total weight of 51,640 grams were sold to the population, according to the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

The program was launched by the National Bank of Kazakhstan on May 31, 2017.

Gold bars are made by the Kazakhstan Mint and are represented in four varieties: 10, 20, 50 and 100 grams, said the bank.

The price of ingots can vary every day. At the same time, participating banks establish prices for ingots themselves. The National Bank publishes daily information on the appraised value of one gram of gold in Kazakh national currency – tenge.

On May 31, 2017 – on the day of the launch of the program, the estimated value of one gram of gold was 12,790 Kazakh tenges, and on December 1, the estimated value for one gram of gold was 13,805 Kazakh tenges with an increase of about seven percent.
