In January-May 2018, Kazakhstan exported 387,900 tons of grain through the Ak Biday-Terminal, the press service of the Food Corporation JSC said in a message.
Kazakhstan’s export of cereals is expected to decrease by one million tons in 2018-2019 marketing year, compared to 2017-2018 marketing year (8.2 million tons), according to the May assessment of the International Grains Council (IGC).
In the 2016-2017 season, the export of Kazakh grain also amounted to 8.2 million.
Ak Biday Terminal JSC is located on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea in the seaport of Aktau in Kazakhstan.
The terminal was built as part of the "Agricultural food program of the Republic of Kazakhstan", approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 5, 2002 number 889, which is aimed at stabilizing and expanding export of grain, especially in the countries of the Caucasus region and the Middle East.
The sole shareholder of the terminal is the Food Contract Corporation JSC.
