USAID launches program on supporting youth, women entrepreneurship in Georgia

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched program Supporting Youth and Women Entrepreneurship in Georgia (YES-Georgia), Trend reports citing Georgian media.

As reported, YES-Georgia will significantly encourage and motivate local young and female entrepreneurs and contribute to their successful activities.

The program launch event was attended by international and local organizations, donors, government and business representatives, academia and youth and women entrepreneurs. The official part of the ceremony started with an introduction by Mission Director of USAID/Georgia Peter Wiebler.

The USAID program Supporting Youth and Women Entrepreneurship in Georgia is implemented by the Georgian Crystal Fund with the financial support from through USAID and the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiative.

Additional financial support is provided by JSC MFO Crystal. The program also cooperates with the international organization Buzz Women and local consulting company Crystal Consulting LLC.

The program provides emerging entrepreneurs and professionals with skills development, business training, mentoring, and access to finance.

Supporting Youth and Women Entrepreneurship in Georgia is an extension of the previous USAID program Youth Entrepreneurial Skills for Advancing Employability and Income Generation in Georgia.
