UAE, Turkey purchase cotton yarn from Turkmenistan

The State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan registered 20 transactions, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The transactions were concluded both in foreign currency and in Turkmen manat.

The total amount of transactions in foreign currency was about $480,000 covering cotton yarn, purchased by entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Kirghistan, as well as dyed terry-loop goods purchased by businessmen from Russian.

Entrepreneurs from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and from Turkey bought cotton yarn worth over 2.7 million manat (exceeding $795,000).

Meanwhile, entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan purchased high-density polyethylene produced by Turkmengas state concern and cotton fiber. The total amount of transactions was 112.4 million manat (about $32.1 million).

The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
