ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 25. Kazakhstan and Indonesia are advancing bilateral economic ties through direct business networking, with a focus on boosting Kazakh exports, attracting investment, and exploring joint projects in key sectors like energy, infrastructure, and mining, Trend reports via Kazakh Invest.

This was discussed at a networking session with representatives of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) in Almaty at the regional office of the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs

According to information, the event was held with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Indonesia and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was attended by business representatives from both countries, including KADIN, Atameken regional office, Foreign Trade Chamber, as well as Kazakh Invest, QazTrade, and local businesses.

In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Indonesia Serzhan Abdykarimov noted the stable development of bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of strengthening trade and economic cooperation with the Indonesian business community.

In addition, the main attention was paid to the promotion of Kazakh products in the Indonesian market, presentation of key export positions and investment projects of Kazakhstan, as well as the promotion of direct B2B relations between entrepreneurs of both sides.

Following the meeting, the sides reached agreements on opening a showroom for Kazakhstani products in Jakarta, supporting the participation of Kazakhstani companies in the Halal Indo Expo 2025 exhibition, as well as continued discussion of projects in mining, energy, infrastructure, and renewable energy.

"Indonesian partners show great interest in investment projects in Kazakhstan, especially in subsoil use, energy, and infrastructure. Such meetings help establish direct links between enterprises and open up opportunities for concrete cooperation," said Jamaldin Nadyrov, Kazakh Invest's regional representative in Almaty.

Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia, accounting for about 37 percent of the region's total GDP, and Kazakhstan's third-largest trading partner in the region, said Serik Amirov, special representative of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan in ASEAN countries. In 2024, trade turnover between the two countries totaled $300.5 million. Despite the continuing positive trade balance in favor of Indonesia, Kazakhstan's exports show an upward trend.

Such business events contribute to the active promotion of Kazakhstan's export and investment potential in key foreign markets and expand support tools for domestic enterprises.

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the central coordinating body in the field of entrepreneurship in the country. Its business network covers all provinces and municipalities of Indonesia and has 549 branches, including 34 regional and 514 district chambers. There are currently about 100,000 Indonesian companies registered with KADIN. In 2022, the Chamber established a Committee for Cooperation with Kazakhstan.
