Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct.3 / Trend, E. Ismayilov /
By late 2011, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to launch a new high-output gas-condensate well on the "Bulla Deniz" offshore field, which is owned by SOCAR, a source in SOCAR told Trend.
He said now work is underway to create underwater infrastructure to transport hydrocarbons to shore.
"All necessary work is underway in order to connect and commission the well by late 2011," the source said.
He said the well's estimated daily production output hits 450,000-500,000 cubic meters of gas and 80 tons of condensate.
Earlier, SOCAR First Vice President for Geology, Geophysics and Mining Khoshbakht Yusifzade said the new well on the "Bulla-Deniz" field is perspective, whereas previously, the Geophysics and Geology Department installed an RT-Leuzas remote control system to monitor and control the well.
The Bulla Deniz Field has been exploited since 1975. Roughly 62 billion cubic meters of gas and 11 million tons of oil and gas condensate were produced on the field.
According to SOCAR geologists, gas production in this field may increase several times.
