Some 11,5 million cubic meters of gas were produced at the Balakhany-Sabunchu-Ramana field in 2019 against the planned 8 million cubic meters, Ibrahim Ahmadov, deputy head of the public relations and events department at Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR, told Trend.
"The volume of oil production at the field exceeded the plan by 251,000 tons," Ahmadov said.
"The total stock of wells here is 1487, of which 1098 are active ones," he added.
The Balakhany field is explored by Balakhani Oil operating company.
SOCAR and UGE-Lanser PTI signed the contract on rehabilitation, exploration and production sharing (PSA) for the onshore Balakhany-Sabunchu-Ramana and Kurdakhany block of fields in June 2010. The contract area is 16,14 square kilometers.
The contract was signed for 25 years, with possibility to be prolonged for additional 5 years. 75 percent of the shared participation in the contract was received by Lanser and 25 percent – by SOCAR.
