BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 26. Iraq really upped the ante and sent a boatload of remittances to Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2024, Trend reports.
The volume of remittances by individuals from Iraq to Azerbaijan stood at $6.4 million during the mentioned period.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the numbers shot up by 7.89 times ($5.6 million) compared to the first quarter of 2023.
The share of remittances from Iraq in the total volume of remittances was 2.2 percent.
To recall, the volume of remittances by individuals from Iraq to Azerbaijan amounted to $8.16 million in 2023.
Additionally, all around the globe, Azerbaijan raked in a whopping $1.6 billion in remittances last year.
