The volume of goods transported in the Azerbaijani part of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor (TRACECA) amounted to 52.8 million tons while cargo turnover amounted to 11.2 billion tons in 2019, Trend reports on Feb. 18 referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
The volume of the transported goods increased by 0.2 percent in 2019 compared to 2018.
A great share of the total volume of cargo transportation (65.6 percent) accounted for vehicles – 34.6 million tons, the growth in cargo transportation amounted to 2.3 percent.
Some 25.3 percent of all cargo transportation - 13.3 million tons accounted for railway. The growth in cargo transportation amounted to 5.8 percent in 2019 compared to 2018.
Some 9.3 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation accounted for ships and the volume amounted to 4.8 million tons (almost 29.9 percent-decrease).
About 15.3 percent of goods transported through the corridor in the volume of over 8 million tons accounted for transit cargo.
