ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 10. Kazakhstan has adopted the Concept for the Development of the Tourism Industry in the country for the years 2023 to 2029, Trend reports.
According to the country's Ministry of Culture and Sport, the goal is to make tourism a priority direction for the country's economic development. This includes increasing employment in the tourism sector to 800,000 people and raising the gross value added in the industry to 6 trillion Kazakh tenge ($13.5 billion). Investments in accommodation and catering services are planned to reach 260 billion Kazakh tenge ($586.6 million).
As the Minister of Culture and Sports, Askhat Oralov noted, effective migration control will be ensured through the implementation of the "eQonaq" electronic system and the introduction of special mobile applications.
Furthermore, to assess the effectiveness of the funds invested, a national rating assessment of regions based on the level of tourism infrastructure development will be introduced. The rating will cover priority areas and the top 50 destinations included in the Kazakhstan Tourism Map.
Additionally, the development of the National Tourism Portal will continue to provide travelers with all the necessary information, such as the location of tourist attractions and the range of services available on-site.
