ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 18. Kazakhstan registered approximately 157,900 automobiles in April 2024, which is 7.9 percent less than the same month in 2023, Trend reports.
The country's Bureau of National Statistics' data shows that the number of buses increased by 15.3 percent, trucks declined by 2.9 percent, and passenger vehicles decreased by 8.6 percent.
As of May 1, 2024, Kazakhstan had 5.442 million registered vehicles, with 88 percent being passenger cars, 9.9 percent - trucks, and 2.1 percent - buses.
By year of manufacture, in the total number of registered passenger cars, vehicles with a year of manufacture over 20 years predominate - 44.8 percent, from 10 to 20 years - 23.6 percent of the fleet, from 7 to 10 years - 12.7 percent, from 3 to 7 years – 12.7 percent, and only 6.2 percent of vehicles are less than 3 years old.
At the same time, of the total number of registered passenger cars, the largest share (44.4 percent) are cars with an engine capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 cubic centimeters, with an engine capacity of up to 1,500 cubic centimeters – 18.8 percent, with an engine capacity of 2,000 to 2,500 cubic centimeters - 17.4 percent, with an engine capacity of 2,500 to 4,000 cubic centimeters – 15 percent, and over 4000 cubic centimeters – 1.9 percent.
The largest number of passenger cars with an engine capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 cubic centimeters were registered in the Almaty region - 230,400 units; in the city of Almaty - 213,500 units; in the city of Astana - 165,000 units; and in the Karaganda region - 156,600 units.
