ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 16. Four gas processing plants will be commissioned in Kazakhstan by 2030, announced Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev during a government meeting, Trend reports.
"Starting from 2026 through 2030, we will begin the phased commissioning of four gas processing plants," the minister stated.
He specified that two plants, with capacities of 1 billion and 2.5 billion cubic meters per year respectively, will be operationalized at the Kashagan field in collaboration with Qatari investor UCC Holding.
"At the Karachaganak field, a plant with a capacity of 4 billion cubic meters per year will be launched. Additionally, the KazGPP (Kazakh Gas Processing Plant) in Zhanaozen, with a capacity of 900 million cubic meters per year, will commence operations," Satkaliyev noted.
In 2023, Kazakhstan's overall gas production totaled 59.063 billion cubic meters, sourced from fields such as Tengiz (16.009 billion cubic meters), Karachaganak (22.385 billion cubic meters), Kashagan (11.856 billion cubic meters), and other fields (8.813 billion cubic meters).
Kazakhstan aims to produce 60.456 billion cubic meters of raw natural gas in 2024.
