ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 17. The volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $614.3 million from January through May 2024, Trend reports.
Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the volume of trade turnover decreased by 2.5 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($630 million).
At the same time, exports to Kyrgyzstan for the above period amounted to $451.3 million, which is 6.7 percent more than January–May 2023 ($423 million).
In addition, imports from Kyrgyzstan from January through May 2024 decreased by 21.4 percent and amounted to $163 million. From January through May 2023, imports amounted to $207.4 million.
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in 2023 amounted to over $1.3 billion, which is 11.6 percent more than $1.1 billion in 2022.
Kyrgyzstan’s exports to Kazakhstan during last year reached $455 million, increasing by 10.9 percent compared to $410 million in 2022.
Moreover, Kyrgyzstan's imports from Kazakhstan in 2023 totaled $862 million, which is an 11.9 percent increase compared to the 2022 figures ($770 million).
