ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 5. The income of Kazakhstan's Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund amounted to 7.9 trillion tenge (about $16.8 billion) from January through June 2024, said the chairman of the board of the fund, Nurlan Zhakupov, Trend reports.
He made the remark during a meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"The main production indicators remained at the planned level. The Fund's income amounted to 7.9 trillion tenge, which is 7 percent higher than planned. The fund acts as a catalyst for foreign direct investment and co-invests in petrochemical, energy, transport and logistics, mechanical engineering, and digitalization projects together with foreign partners," he said.
He also noted that the investment portfolio of the Samruk-Kazyna group includes over 130 projects worth 53.5 trillion tenge (about $113.7 billion).
"It is expected that the implementation of megaprojects in the oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, logistics, and mining industries will have a multiplier effect on the country’s economy as a whole," Zhakupov said.
Meanwhile, the revenue of the Samruk-Kazyna group (Sovereign Wealth Fund) amounted to 15.4 trillion tenge (about $32.1 billion) in 2023, which is 4 percent more year-on-year. This was affected by the positive results of a number of key operational indicators in the group.
