China becomes one of largest exporters of trucks to Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 31. Kyrgyzstan has imported 1,241 trucks from China from January through August 2023, Trend reports.

According to data from Kyrgyzstan's National Statistical Committee, this figure was 2.8 times greater than the 429 trucks imported during the same period in 2022. The overall value of these imports was $44.112 million, up 2.8 times from $15.344 million in the first eight months of 2022.

China is the third largest exporter of trucks to Kyrgyzstan. South Korea leads the way with 3,391 vehicles worth $11.074 million imported, followed by Lithuania with 2,957 trucks for $8.754 million.

Kyrgyzstan received 8,729 trucks from January to August 2023, a 2.3-fold increase over the 3,722 vehicles received during the same period in 2022. The entire import value has risen to $87.777 million, up 2.4 times from $36.007 million in 2022.

Data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan also indicates that the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and China reached $3.176 billion from January through August 2023. It increased by $560.1 million, or 21.4 percent year-on-year. Chinese share was 33.9 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade turnover, making it the largest trade partner of the country.
