BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 19. Kyrgyzstan imported 80,341 tons of oil products from Kazakhstan in 2023, which is a 2.1-times increase compared to 2022 (37,264 tons), Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee shows that the import's value amounted to $38.512 million, surging by 94 percent compared to $19.849 million in 2022.
In 2023, Kazakhstan ranked second among the countries from which Kyrgyzstan imported oil products. The majority of oil products imported by Kyrgyzstan came from Russia, totaling 504,573 tons at $370.453 million.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 612,007 tons of oil products in 2023, which is 9 percent less than in 2022 (671,733 tons). The total value of imports amounted to $456.864 million, declining by 13 percent compared to 2022 ($525.276 million).
Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan reached $1.317 billion in 2023, increasing by 11.6 percent compared to $1.181 billion in 2022.
Kyrgyzstan’s exports to Kazakhstan during the same period reached $455.702 million, a 10.9 percent increase compared to $410.888 million in 2022. Imports from Kazakhstan in 2023 totaled $862.182 million, which is an 11.9-percent increase compared to the 2022 figures ($770.215 million).
