DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, March 12. Over $74.1 million has been attracted from Uzbek entrepreneurs to Tajikistan as of January 1, 2024, Trend reports.
According to the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan, this figure was highlighted during a meeting between the Chairperson of the committee, Sulton Rahimzoda, and the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov.
The meeting also underscored that, as of January 1, 2024, Tajikistan has registered 90 enterprises with the Uzbek capital. Discussions included the exchange of views on financing priority projects through Tajikistan's and Uzbekistan's investment companies.
Wrapping up the meeting, both sides expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation and to hold an investment forum between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan during the Uzbek president's state visit to Tajikistan in the first half of 2024.
In a meeting between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, and Laziz Kudratov, it was highlighted that the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan reached $504.4 million in 2023, ranking fifth in Tajikistan's overall foreign trade turnover.
