BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Russia increased by more than 45 percent from January through March 2022 compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to government of the Russian Federation.
This was stated by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
According to Putin, last year the bilateral trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Russia amounted to $865 million, a decrease of 10.8 percent compared to 2020.
Moreover, he noted that the Russian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation is working productively on the diversification of commodity and investment exchanges and opportunities in this area.
The main directions of Russian exports to Turkmenistan include equipment, vehicles, foodstuffs, agricultural raw materials, chemical industry products and metals.
Russia imports textiles, footwear, foodstuffs, chemical industry products and rubber from Turkmenistan.
