BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. The gas processing volume at Iran's South Pars Gas Company has increased by 2 billion cubic meters during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025), compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Hassan Asaadi, an official at the company, told reporters, Trend reports.
Asaadi highlighted that more than 182 billion cubic meters of
gas have been processed at the South Pars Gas Company during the
past 11 months, which has been integrated into the national gas
network.
He noted that this uptick corresponds to a span of three days of
the nation's gas usage in frigid conditions.
The company representative highlighted that at present, the
organization’s 13 processing facilities manage upwards of 595
million cubic meters of gas each day, concurrently generating more
than 710,000 barrels of gas condensate.
To note, South Pars Gas Company processes the rich gas produced from the South Pars gas field. More than 75 percent of the gas consumed in the country is supplied by this company. The company has 13 processing plants.
The company receives 650 million cubic meters of rich gas daily from the South Pars field, processing 580 million cubic meters for delivery to Iran's gas network. Additionally, the company produces 780,000 barrels of gas condensate, 15,000 tons of ethane, 15,000 tons of propane, 10,000 tons of butane, and 2,500 tons of sulfur daily.
The South Pars gas field (North Dome in Qatar) is a joint Iran-Qatar gas field. It is reported that this field has 51 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, of which 36 trillion cubic meters can be produced. Iran's share in this field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
