BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 5. The sales of Urmia Petrochemical Company (UPC) experienced a remarkable increase, with a 53 percent rise in value and a 69 percent increase in weight during the eleventh month of the current Iranian year (from January 20, through February 18, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from January 21, through February 19, 2024), Trend reports citing the UPC.
According to the company, UPC sold over 9,000 tons of products valued at 2.26 trillion rials (about $3.95 million) in the eleventh month.
For the entire eleven-month period (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025), the company sold 71,600 tons of products, generating a total revenue of 17 trillion rials (about $29.8 million). The company’s main products include ammonium sulfate, crystalline melamine, potassium sulfate, and sulfuric acid.
Founded in 1990, Urmia Petrochemical Company functions within a sprawling 110-hectare footprint and boasts a portfolio of four manufacturing facilities. The enterprise possesses the capability to manufacture 50,000 metric tons of sulfuric acid, 50,000 metric tons of hydrochloric acid, 40,000 metric tons of ammonium sulfate, 40,000 metric tons of potassium sulfate, and 4,000 metric tons of crystalline melamine on an annual basis.
To note, in the preceding Iranian fiscal cycle (spanning from March 21, 2023, to March 19, 2024), the revenue generated by Urmia Petrochemical Company reached approximately 19 trillion rials, equating to around $48.6 million.
