BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 8. Iran is developing in various fields, including the nuclear industry, stem cells, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and aerospace, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said during a meeting with the residents of Qom, Trend reports.
He said that in these areas, the country’s needs are being met by local specialists.
Khamenei noted that Western countries are trying to create the impression that the Iranian state and its citizens are isolated from each other. However, Iran has achieved these developments thanks to its own specialists and youth.
“The claim that Iran is isolated is completely unfounded. These claims were initiated by foreigners, and some within the country also repeat them, deceiving themselves. Today, Iran is an independent, conscious country with a future in the world,” he said.
Since the end of December, protest actions have begun in Iran amid a sharp depreciation of the national currency, the rial, against foreign currencies, high inflation, and other economic problems. There have been reports of deaths and injuries during the protests, although no figures have been specified.
