The only issue that is discussed in connection with Iran's nuclear program is the question of swap of the fuel needed for the Tehran reactor, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said. MEHR News Agency reported.
"Besides the question of fuel swap, there is nothing to discuss on the nuclear program. Case on Iran's nuclear program is closed, and we continue our work," - Mehmanparast said at the weekly press conference today.
According to him, if the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany (Group 5 +1) are ready to discuss the issue, "we are also ready to negotiate, and the subject of discussion is a package of Iran's proposals."
The United States and other Western countries have accused Iran of developing nuclear weapons for military purposes under the guise of a peaceful nuclear energy program. Tehran denies the charges, saying that its nuclear program is aimed solely at meeting the country's electricity needs. The U.N. Security Council adopted five resolutions in connection with the suspension of Iran's nuclear program. Three involve the use of economic sanctions on Iran.
