Syrian Minister of State for the People's Assembly Affairs Ghiath Gara'atli said that upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, a Syrian ship has been sent to Benghazi port in Libya to bring 350 citizens back to Syria, SANA reported.
"The Syrian government has also chartered Europe Palace Ship to bring 2000 Syrians back home along with Rebal Vessel which will transform 1700 citizens," Minister Jara'atli told members of the People's Assembly during its session on Monday.
He estimated the number of Syrian citizens who came to Syria onboard Syrian Airlines at 5000 persons.
The MPs listened to an explanation by Economy and Trade Minister Lamya Assi on economic issues in the country.
Assi stressed that the Syrian government is committed to control prices of the citizens' basic needs and improve the living conditions of the people.
