In August this year, a total of 50,919 tourists from Japan and China visited Turkey, Trend reports Oct. 2 referring to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey.
During this month, 10,428 tourists from Japan visited Turkey, which is 26.91 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
“The share of Japanese citizens in the total number of foreigners visiting Turkey over this period amounted to 0.17 percent,” the ministry said.
In January-August 2019, 66,974 tourists from Japan visited Turkey, which is 31.62 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
The share of Japanese citizens in the total number of foreigners visiting Turkey in January-August 2019 amounted to 0.22 percent.
In August 2019, 40,491 tourists from China visited Turkey, which is 17.59 percent more compared to August 2018.
“The share of Chinese citizens in the total number of foreigners visiting Turkey over this period amounted to 0.64 percent,” the ministry said.
In January-August 2019, 292,322 tourists from China visited Turkey, which is 12.66 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
The share of Chinese citizens in the total number of foreigners visiting Turkey in January-August 2019 amounted to 0.94 percent.
In August 2019, 6.307 million tourists visited Turkey, which is 17.17 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
During this period, 2.4 million tourists visited Antalya, 1.5 million tourists - Istanbul.
In January-August 2019, 31 million tourists visited Turkey, which is 14.72 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
