The Institute of Information Technologies under the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences has started to install the technical equipment for the DATA-center, the institute told Trend on Friday.
The work in this direction will be completed by the end of the month.
IBM provides software and hardware solutions.
DATA center's capacity will hit 1.5 teraflops, the amount of RAM - 650 GB and an external array - 40 TB. The construction of a two-storey building has been completed. DATA-center will be placed there.
The institute will use the resources of the center to deploy Cloud Computing technologies. These technologies will be initially available for more than 35 research institutes of the Academy of Sciences and all scientists and universities of the country in the future.
People, using Cloud Computing technologies, will be able to quickly solve difficult tasks.
Users will have three managed services - software-as-a-service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).
After the DATA-center is launched, the institute plans to use identification database. It will classify a list of services of the research computer network.
