BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 7. State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control considering 3,176 applications, have satisfied 1,187 of them during the first half of 2023 in Azerbaijan, Head of Consumer Protection Dept. at the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan Roman Garashov told Trend.
According to him, 2701 of them were received during the reporting period, including 475 of the remaining applications from last year.
"Of the considered appeals, legal explanations and recommendations were given on 1371, as many as 160 were sent for consideration to the relevant authorities, while 10 were recommended for consideration, the process of considering 22 appeals was stopped due to the failure to submit the necessary documents, 426 are under consideration. As a result, the economic entities that committed violations returned 186,010 manat ($109,417) to consumers, while the damage in the amount of up to 34,680 manat ($20,400) was compensated," Garashov said.
Meanwhile, a total of 5,570 appeals received by the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control were considered, of which 2,260 were satisfied, during 2022.
As a result, as many as 318,000 manat ($187,058) were returned to consumers by the economic entities as compensation for violations, and damage totaling ov 20,000 manat ($11,764) was compensated.
