Georgian and Ukrainian Presidents Met with US Nominee

Georgia, Tbilisi, 25 September / corr. Trend N. Kirtzkhalia / The meeting of Ukrainian president Victor Yushenko and Georgian president Michael Saakashvili with US nominee from Republican party John McCain was held in New York.

Contender for vice president from republicans Sara Peylin alsotook part in the meeting.

The Georgian president thanked McCain for support to Georgia during the Russian aggression.

"We will always remember senator's words that today we all are Georgians and we are thankful him for it," Saakashvili said.

Meanwhile, he thanked democrats for assistance rendered to Georgia, noting support by contender for US vice president Jozef Bayden visiting Tbilisi during those tough period and offer to render assistance to the country in the amount of $1 bln.

"It indicates that both democrats and republicans, it means that American people, support Georgia in its struggle for democracy and freedom", - Saakashvili says.
