Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is not going to resign within next 4 years, the president stated at the Avlabari residence during signing a memorandum to construct Paravani Hydro Power Station on April 10.
This statement can be assessed as a response to opposition's demand for his resignation. Opposition is waiting for an answer for its ultimatum by 16.00 on April 10.
The president spoke about the yesterday's protest action. "It was an important day in our country's development. One part of our society expressed their protest in such a form which belongs to the developed countries and nations," he stated.
At the same time, Saakashvili stressed that any political shock seriously affect the country's economy. Demand for dollar increased by April 9, but this situation has been stabilized on the currency market at the moment, he said.
"I want to tell everybody who assembled in front of the parliament that I regard their problems, hopes and demands. I know the country's problem, majority of people barely makes both ends meet, this state was more intensified due to crisis and war and they are offended and angry. I am also angry with the current situation in the country, but we must to overcome all of these together and make correct decisions," Saakashvili said.
The president against urged the country's people to unity and opposition forces to dialogue. "We always supported a dialogue and again say that we are ready to this. At present above all is to save the country from economic crisis, solve problems with unemployment, provide de-occupation of Georgia, and improve political system, as well as juridical system," the president said.
Saakashvili stressed it is too easy not to listen to opponent's opinion and too difficult to forgive and share other's opinion. "At present when the country has difficulty, we do not have another alternative, but dialogue," he said and stressed that it is high time to negotiate and listen to each other to protect our country.
