BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 31. Armenia doesn't abandon its intention to meddle in Azerbaijan's domestic affairs, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, Trend reports.
"The fact that Armenia hasn't yet withdrawn its armed forces from Azerbaijani territory [contrary to the trilateral statement signed by Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian leaders following the 2020 second Karabakh war], obstructing the opening of the Zangazur corridor, and doesn't abandon its intention to medde in Azerbaijan's domestic affairs under the pretext of "caring" for the rights and security of Armenians residing in Karabakh, menaces peace and stability in the region.
"The policy pursued by Azerbaijan, despite all this, and at the same time, the common view of Azerbaijan and Türkiye on the future of the region and the steps taken will continue to ensure progress and security in the region," Bayramov noted.
Proposed by the Azerbaijani side, the Zangazur corridor aims to establish a transportation link between Azerbaijan's mainland and its exclave, Nakhchivan, passing through Armenian territory. This corridor emerged as part of the above mentioned trilateral statement. One point of the agreement outlined Armenia's commitment to ensuring the security of transport connections to Nakhchivan, facilitating the unrestricted movement of people, vehicles, and goods in both directions.
On July 31, during Bayramov's visit to Türkiye, he met with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.
The meeting followed with a joint press conference between the fraternal countries' ministers.
The visit also schedules Bayramov's meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other Turkish officials.
