BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on expanding the territory of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, Trend reports.
According to the decree, guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan, in connection with the implementation of the Presidential Decree of Azerbaijan "On measures to implement a pilot project in the field of drinking water production by desalination of seawater" dated April 12, 2023, No. 3843:
1. The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan must:
1.1. take measures within two months to transfer the 29.63-hectare state-owned land plot (26.86 hectares under the use of the Azerikimya Production Association of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and 2.77 hectares of adjacent land) located in the administrative territory of Sumgayit city, indicated in the land use plans attached to this decree, prepared by the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, to the use of the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones under the ministry, with the right to lease, for the purpose of expanding the territory of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, and to inform the President of Azerbaijan;
1.2. resolve other issues arising from this decree.
2. The Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, and the Executive Power of Sumgayit city must take the necessary measures to address the issues arising from this decree, the document said.
